les viscères (un viscère): The soft internal organs of the body, including the lungs, the heart, and the organs of the chest and pelvic areas. 

Children are often unable to articulate the bad things that happen to them, but they still need somewhere to put it. This is me, with the growth and knowledge of an adult, giving my younger self a chance to be loud about a 20 year old secret. These photographs act as an anatomy chart of my body from the perspective of a child. Each figure identifies where I placed traumas I experienced growing up; the heart, the lungs, the guts.

This is my viscera.

During the show, I asked everyone to participate by sharing a secret in the photo booth. Anonymously or not, viewers take one photo of themself, a friend or the space, and write their secret on the back. There was a locked box to place it in when they were done. At the end of the show, I will be taking these photos and creating a book like a diary for their secrets.
